Meet our chiefs

Chief García has been with Lytle VFD Fire Department for almost 20 years.  He has served as AC for 13 years and Chief for the last year.  He is responsible for overseeing the department and ensuring firefighters are always equipped with the proper tools to respond to emergencies.

AC Medina has been with Lytle VFD Fire Department for almost 10 years and has served as the AC for 4 years. He is responsible for training new recruits and ensuring that all firefighters are up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies.

Make sure you have working smoke detectors on every level of your home. Test them monthly and replace the batteries twice a year.

Create a fire escape plan with your family and practice it regularly. Identify two ways out of every room and establish a meeting place outside.

Never leave cooking food unattended and keep flammable items away from the stove. In case of a grease fire, smother the flames with a lid and turn off the heat.

Keep space heaters at least 3 feet away from anything that can burn. Never use an oven or stove to heat your home. Have your furnace and chimney inspected annually.
